How to Install Linux Mint 18.2 64bit in VMware Workstation.

Installation of an Operating System in a Virtual Machine does not require any Internet Connection. Just remember to run the 'VMware Workstation' as 'Administrative'.
1] Create a Virtual Machine for Linux Mint.
Creating Virtual Machine for an OS is different procedure than Installing that OS in the particular Virtual Machine we created.
I have made a separate Tutorial to ease out the whole process.

2] After you have completed creating Virtual Machine from above tutorial, click on 'Power on this Virtual Machine'.
It is shown in red box.

3] This is how it looks when it is about to get start.
*************************WARNING************************
Only Linux provide Live Boot option not Windows.
So if you are trying to Install Windows you will be directly welcomed with setup process.

A countdown will start. Let the countdown get finished.

For different type of Operating System the Startup Symbols may be different.
4] Then you will see Linux Mint Home screen.
Here click on "Install Linux Mint" icon.
The icon is shown in red box.

5] Now The Installation Procedure begins.
Select 'English' Language and the click on 'Continue' ..

6] In next step check the 'Install third party software...' option.
Then Click 'Continue'.

7] Now we have to select our 'Installation Type' .
Select 'Something Else' .
Then click on 'Continue' .
This method is somewhat hard but we are using this because this will clear concepts of Dual Booting.
On selecting this option we are allowed to partition the Hard Disk as we like so it is good for you to get familiar with these STEP because it is the most important and common process while Installing any Linux OS.

8] You will see something written as 'dev/sda' select it.
This is our Hard Drive.
Now click on 'New Partition Table' .
See below image than move to next step.
9] Click on 'Continue' .

This method actually converts the hard disk space into 'Unallocated Space' to make partitions.
PARTITIONING
10] After clicking Continue in previous step there will be a new Free Space created.
Select that 'Free Space'.
Then click on the 'Add' button shown in image.
A new window will appear.

11] Now we are going to create three partitions.
1] Root '/'
2] Home '/home'
3] Swap 'swap area'
See the image and follow steps carefully.
Creating First Partitions 'swap' 4GB.
Steps are shown in image below.
12] After clicking 'OK' you will see 'Swap' Partition has been created.
Now again select the 'Free space' and click 'add' icon.
13] In 11th step we have created the Swap Partition.
Now we will create 'Home' partition 10 GB.
See the steps in image and follow carefully.

14] After clicking 'OK' you will see 'home' Partition has been created.
Now again select the 'Free space' and click 'add' icon.
15] In 13th step we created the 'Home' partition.
Now we will create our third and last partition 'root'.
See the steps in image and follow carefully.

16] Now all three partitions are created now click 'Install Now' button.

17] A pop-up window will appear. In that window again click 'Continue'.

16] In this step we have to select our Time Zone (Kolkata).
After Selecting click 'Continue' button.

17] Select Keyboard Layout.
After Selecting click 'Continue' button.

18] Enter your details and set a password. You can not continue without password.
Remember your Password.
After Selecting click 'Continue' button.

19] After fillings details the Installation process will start.

20] When the Installation process gets completed you will be asked to "restart".
click on 'Restart Now' button in red box.

21] After restarting you will see a Login Window.
Use password from 'Step 18' press enter.
Now you will get to the Linux Mint Home Screen.

The process of creating Virtual Machine for any of the OS is mostly similar but the Installation of OS in the Virtual Machine is different.
You can create Virtual Machine for any Operating System.
Just change the OS type when asked.
